PII (Personally Identifiable Information)

privacy

Any data that can be used to identify an individual, either by itself or in combination with other data. PII includes obvious identifiers (name, email, phone number, SSN) but also less-obvious combinations: a job title plus a company plus a city can uniquely identify someone even with no name attached. Meeting transcripts are dense in PII — names are spoken constantly, plus customer names, account numbers, salaries, and personal anecdotes. Responsible meeting copilots offer PII redaction options for sensitive contexts (clinical conversations, recruiting interviews, sales calls with regulated industries) and apply data-minimization principles to embeddings and analytics — strip PII before indexing if the use case doesn't need it.
